House eighteen

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, October 25, 2007

The snow is not flying yet but Tisdale's contractors are going as fast as they can to close up the houses framed and get the structures up on those new basements awaiting walls and rooves.

This house is located almost on the southern outskirts of town across from the campground on the road to the Hide-away Greenhouse. The basement is in place and the concrete poured for the garage. Just a few details left before a ready to move house will be eased into place on this site.

This basement is a RISE construction project and I was able to discuss the whole process. They have a new house fully framed with the shingles on the roof over on Forester and will soon be putting in the windows. Another project out of town is awaiting interior work to install the cupboards and this third project is just about ready for the house to be moved onto the site.

That's it for this contractor for this season as he explained the tough time he has had trying to get workers and with so many project in the community on the go it is just a nightmare keeping the various subtrades online for each project. Each new house needs the general contractor to get the structure up but then there are a series of other trades to make the house, plumbers, electricians, drywallers, finishers and then the installation of flooring and cupboards. A tricky process and the limits have been exceeded this year.
