Bridge making progress

FTLComm - Tisdale - Tuesday, December 2, 2008

The contractor was just removing the old structure November 18 and already the piles to support the new bridge are all in place and the beams resting on the ready for decking. From these pictures you can see that the new bridge will have more than double the water handling capacity of the bridge it replaces.

Fortunately ice damage is rare at this location the frequency of flooding certainly is a concern and the newer larger bridge adds considerably to the safety of the highway and bridge while place no constraints on the flow of the little river it spans.
