I went down to Surrey to meet Terry Stanley and was thrilled as this would be the first run of the T-Bird, the car Terry had spent nearly four years putting together. I still couldn't believe that the car was ready to run. I had seen it in the beginning and would have bet a great deal of money that this car would not only not race but wouldn't leave the shop. A while back
it did leave the shop and when we 'smoked' this fancy little Vette on a late night beer run, I knew that Terry, with no formal training in fixing cars, body or motor, had a gift, a gift that if supported by sufficient funds provided by regular work as a roofer, could be best used on a track with like-minded car goons in a place such as Mission.
