Big Potatoes

Gravelbourg - Wednesday, October 6, 2004 by: Donna LaRochelle

Here are our potatoes.  The biggest one weighs  1.056 kg. which is 2.32 lbs. The picture with all the potatoes (above) totals 13 lbs of potatoes. They all came from two plants. A staggering 13 pounds of potatoes.

This crop comes in a year when most Saskatchewan gardens did very poorly yet at the farm in Gravelbourg the potatoes are huge.

When you see this plate full there is no room for the rest of your supper. This really is a full sized dinner plate, not a saucer. Now, that's big.

Can you imagine how long your French fries would be from potatoes like these.

It looks like you would have no need to be able to pluralise potato for a meal with one alone being all you would need.
