Putting it in

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, May 10 2007

It almost seemed as though there was at least a tractor in every field this morning as I drove out to the east of Tisdale to take a look at the seeding operation.

From the dust you can tell that these fields are dry and the process is walking right along.

Today was ideal seeding conditions with the gale force winds of yesterday only now a memory it is dry and cool. The weather actually did quite a "u-turn" yesterday late afternoon as it dropped from just below 20º to 5º in a little more than one hour. Though Environment Canada showed Tisdale at -1º this morning it was +5 when I left the house at 7:50. But we are in a very high pressure area and the temperature just remained low for all of the day despite the fact by mid afternoon the few clouds from the morning had long gone.

With weather like this the seeding process will go very quickly and everybody in the business is out there turning the stubble into planted fields. We will try to keep you posted as things move along.
