Bush's Press Conference on Iraqi War:
A Just War or just a War for President Bush and his God?

didn't say
anything

I am confused Friday morning. President George Bush gave a press conference Thursday night and he didn't say anything new, no new learning for him and no new learning for ourselves. In fact, president Bush's earlier rehearsal for this press conference was not enough to prepare himself as he had to read from a script to answer the questions from his chosen correspondents.

domestic
failure

What impressed me most about this press conference is that war against Iraq is becoming nearer and that our lives may depend on a president who after failing his domestic responsibilities is now gambling on an easy Pyrrhic victory to resurrect his fate.

don't need
anybody's
permission

Journalist Robert Novak has recently pointed out how a Republican senator has described President Bush's gambling as
"Texas poker, with the president putting everything on Iraq"
regardless of the position of the United Nations (UN). Bush's gambling has been confirmed in the press conference as President Bush stated that
"you bet. It's time for people to show their cards, to let the world know where they stand when it comes to Saddam... We've been working with the United Nations. We've been working through the United Nations... when it comes to our security, we really don't need anybody's permission."

When we realize the way the Bush administration has been spying and bribing the United ations Security Council members and when we realize the Bush administration's pre-emptive doctrine to strike any challenging country in the world, then we must all rise against this Bush administration.

hate
and
fear

I remember when President Bush was asking himself
"why do they hate us?"
Friday, Social Economist Paul Krugman has the answer to Bush's question as he succinctly describes the Bush administration policies with the favorite saying of the roman emperor Caligula
"let them hate as long as they fear"
I am at a loss of words as I hear President Bush explain his divine guidance while preparing for war
"My faith sustains me because I pray daily. I pray for guidance and wisdom and strength."

just war

We all must ask ourselves if this Iraqi war is a just war or just a war for President Bush and his God.
