FTLComm - Tisdale - May 30, 2000

With two new houses in place joining the others the time has come to establish a proper back alley. This morning Tisdales town crew brought in the equipment and before nine this morning there was a new alley in place.

The new alley goes in between Wicks Gas bar and R Place restaurant heading East as seen in the picture at the bottom of the page.

This little project required the removal of some trees and a fair amount of dirt had to be removed so that a roadway could be established.

Besides the obvious increase accessiblity for the residents in the area this new alley will improve fire access, garbage removal and improve the civility of the area.

Tisdale has equipped its public works crew with outstanding equipment so that projects like this one can be accomplished with ease as they bring in the huge front end loader, the grader and two dump trucks. Often when tax payer see the cost of this heavy equipment they do not realise the effective use made of it and how it allows the town to accomplish tasks for itself simply and immediately. One additional feature that is illustrated by this project is that Tisdale's workers are highly skilled and can do work like this so quickly and with so little disruption to the area. These pictures were taken a few minutes after eight this morning and the major portion of the project was already finished.
