FTLComm - Tisdale - August 18, 2000
The town has its own crews sorting out replacing sidewalking and curbs in several locations around town and now its time to fix some of those annoying launch points. This hole across from the former TUCs building site was dug up over a year ago and we all have bounced our way through it ever since. Well it has been dug out today and paving crews will be filling it in like several others that have been mended.

Below we can see the batch plant churning away South of town as the repairs continue. Most of the fixing is to repair areas where excavations have taken place and are settled now. In front of the Tisdale Funeral home has been fixed and the five cuts across the street to service lots on the old Dag playground are in the process of being fixed.

The street from main to the hospital has been a roller coaster for the last few months and today it is getting the full treatment and it is going to look and feel much better.

In this picture we see a damaged area dug out ready to be replaced.

This block opposite the old playground of the primary school was dug up in five spots and tested every vehicles suspension at any speed for the past year. The left side in this picture shows that it has already received a new smooth surface as the right side is getting its top as we look on.

These patches are more than superficial affairs and will clean up a lot of streets in the next couple of days. Some of the areas are just getting a quick once over while many intersections are getting complete finishing which will protect the streets from further damage and in the long run reduce over all maintenance costs.

While the streets are getting a good going over this sewer clean out crew has been working in the South side of town this week. This is just part of a general preventative maintenance programme to keep things working and reduce the need for costly excavations in the middle of winter.
