The Digging is finished as the Wascana Lake project gets ready for water

Monday with the sun shining and a chilly March wind blowing our intrepid photographer set off down Albert Street to catch the action in Wascana Lake. Actually he was not alone as there were lots of people watching the project as it is in its final stages for this year.

Perhaps the most unusual site was the two frontend loaders dumping bucket to bucket as one in the lake was passing excess sand up to another behind the new breakwater.

These pictures (below, click to enlarge) are presented in sequence and show the project as the lake is now at its depth and all along the north and south shoreline the forms are in place to pore a concrete breakwater.

Just east of the Albert Street bridge is the construction on the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge which will take foot traffic from the busy thoroughfare.
