Prime Minister's decision must be reconsidered

impact	The Prime Minister's decision to ratify the Kyoto Protocol with no examination of its impact on the various regions of Canada, on Canadian consumers, on Canadian industries, no reference to the United States choosing not to ratify, nor with assessment of predicted nature based climatic change, must be reconsidered.
divisive	Binding Canada to goals both provinces and significant production groups within the economy dispute is divisive.
US competitors	Proceeding without knowing the plans of the Americans is potentially disastrous. Our industries are in direct competition with theirs and may be placed at serious disadvantage.
climatic changes	Governments, industry and environmentalists are all remiss in not taking nature based changes into account when arriving at their positions. Climatic changes are in process. While these cannot be controlled Richard Alley, chairman of the American National Academy of Sciences committee's sage advice can be followed:
resiliencey	"The best strategy, he says, is to work harder now to build resiliency into agriculture, housing, energy use, and into economies generally."
not political	All Canadians will be affected by decisions made concerning global warming. These ought to be arrived at through a thorough assessment of scientific data available, not rushed into to meet a short term political agenda.
