On Saturday, May 29, 2004 ,  with the acceptance of nomination papers by the Returning Officer , voters in the Electoral District of Sackville-Eastern Shore will have the option on June 28 2004 of voting for a PC Party candidate.

The effect of the acceptance of these nomination papers is registration of Canada's newest and at the same time oldest political party.

It is oldest in that those filing the Application for Registration of a Political Party held 2003 memberships in the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and acted to resurrect it.

It is the newest in that when application for that name was not accepted when filed in January 6,2004 a surrogate name , the Progressive Canadian Party , was applied for and accepted as an eligible party for electoral purposes on  March 26,   2004.
