Amber is light headed

Amber Edmonds, seen with her uncle above, works in the town office and is wife and mother with three children. As preparations for this year's Relay for Life began Amber who we all know has, rather had, this gorgeous head of light brown hair challenged everyone to pitch in and raise $5,000. If that happened she would have her head shaved and donate the hair to the folks to provide replacement hair for people receiving cancer therapy.

Well the project really took off as her fellow staff members and family backed her up. The banks and their workers got into the project and by yesterday Amber and her supports have put together $6,000 to contribute to cancer research.

So a few minutes after twelve yesterday Mike Tatarynovich was on hand with his still and video camera and capture these images of this event. Michelle Delorne made speedy work of a great head of hair and by the time I got to the town square Amber was just this bald headed tall lady.

Tisdale and the surrounding communities are out in force this evening and all weekend as the Relay For Life takes place on the field beside the RECPlex.

We all want so much for research to go ahead that will reduce the suffering and all to frequent early loss of life from the scurge that we all call cancer.

Thanks Amber you look great without the hair and it will be back before you know it.
