Beyond The Barrier

FTLComm - Barrier Valley - Sunday, December 2, 2001

Saturday afternoon and we are South bound on highway 35. Just over fifteen minutes South of Tisdale, midway to Archerwell lies this serious stream with its surrounding bush, muskeg and abundance of wild life. The name barrier valley is well suited to this place because it clearly divides the country from the sweeping plains North and South of it and a great contrast from the highlands and lakes to the East and West.

But barriers of all kinds exist only to be over come, perhaps that is why we all

respect and understand the significant divergent points we find.

Further South near Rose Valley the sky and its sublime winter overcast dissipated to reveal the sun slipping behind the barrier of the never reachable horizon.
