The Northwest Wind Makes Us All Humble

Friday late afternoon and the overcast had cleared during the afternoon with brilliant sunlight pouring down. At four-thirty I set off to get the mail and the normal Friday afternoon chores and by the time I got uptown the wind which had been somewhat benign all day had arched its back and breathing heavy from the Northwest.. Almost with a growl the Northern sky darkened as a heavy chilled cloud approached. Despite the temperature being +5 the chill of that wind was warning enough to advise all earthbound souls to think about warmer coats and fat mittens. The picture above is actuall three images blended together to give you the single wide sweep looking dead into the formidable howler that will soon freshen and freeze everything in its path. Below, taken at a few minutes before five is downtown Tisdale.
