Carrot River Storm

Carrot River, July 7, 2005 by Kevin McIntyre

July 2nd was a very sultry day, not blistering hot but humid. For those of us with weather related pain issues you didn't have to see the barometer to know the pressure was falling fast.

Around 9:30 we started getting ready for bed. However, it was to hot in the house and I went out for a short tour around town.

They don't call Saskatchewan
Land Of Living Sky for nothing, it was dramatic!

Back to the house I told Sandra to strap on her sandals and grab the camera. In nothing more than her night shirt away we went. We drove six miles north to the junction of 23 & 55, it changed from calm to strong winds, heavy rains then calm again.

Every five minutes the sky changed. Black clouds with white streaks, lightning - we had a very nice light show for the evening but no close quarters thunder.
