Hot tin roof

FTLComm - Tisdale - Friday, June 22, 2007
Right near 11:00 this morning smoked drifted over Tisdale coming from a house fire on the north end of main street. Tisdale's emergency services went into action blocking off the streets in the area with the RCMP, Volunteer fire department, Town of Tisdale crew, SaskPower and SaskEnergy and first responders all on hand to safely control a dangerous fire.

You will have to wait for an official investigation to work out the cause of the fire but there was some talk of it being the result of a short in a faulty electrical appliance and the fire moved quickly through the two storey house lodging persistently in the roof. The metal roof on the west side of the house seemed to trap the rising hot gases and fire fighters had a tough time getting the temperature to fall and the fire to be extinguished.

Below are some pictures taken of the scene which tell us that Tisdale's prepairdness for even minor emergencies is in excellent form. (
