Grad Car 2002

FTLComm - Tisdale - Sunday, June 9, 2002
Each year the tradition in many Saskatchewan communities is for graduating students to prepare a special car for their last month of high school. One has to think about this ritual as something between self propelled graffiti and an art car. One way or another they are a social phenomena and each year the car's have both the personality of those who made and the spirit of the year in which they are produced.

This year there are three machines roaming the streets of town, a pink Ford, an aging Lincoln and this little hatchback.

I don't think one should read anything into the type of car or its decoration, they are subject to interpretation and probably an form of artistic expression but this year's cars are definitely step up from other years.
