The Royal Bank closing seems like Canada's largest bank just bought into "big is better" concept and closed this profitable branch thinking it could do the same business in its Nipawin branch. The building however was under a fairly long lease arrangement and the bank continues to pay for its use even though it is no longer operating the branch. result of financial pressures. A fairly large number of people work in Nipawin and take their business with them leaving the local market place in distress.
