The struggle for many rural communities to survive is a tough one but for McKague it looks like the battle has been all but lost. What once must have been a thriving village is all but a ghost town. The railway siding no longer has an elevator and this lone CPR building sits haplessly beside the tracks. McKague is located about half an hours drive South of Tisdale some six kilometres East of highway 35. With dense forest along the roadsides the setting is as you will see on the next pages.
