Green To Gold and Gone

FTLComm - Tisdale - Tuesday, September 25, 2001

Each year when the first coat of ice covers the streets and roads of Saskatchewan drivers have to re-learn the skill of driving on slippery surfaces and many bend fenders in the process. Each spring we experience the thrill of stepping outside once again without a jacket and gloves.

The succession of the seasons the ever changing atmosphere around us are so similar each and every year. With three years of Ensign behind me I can look back and see who the same themes arise almost to the very day. Three years ago today the story was "Fall comes to Tisdale".

But these changes though they come each year are actually occuring in a very short period of time. The beauty of the fall leaves is a fleeting experience as they rapidly leave their trees behind and pile up along the curbs and on the lawns.

With the record setting temperatures for yesterday and today we can anticipate the time now of cool evenings to last a very long time before we will see snow in these same bows and gutters. The temperature records that fell yesterday were the warmer than those of 1933.
