On Friday I was down town and spotted a man coming around the corner of the Bank of Montreal. He was carrying a device waist high waving it in front of him. The movement of the white device suggested to me that I was observing a man "witching" the sidewalk looking for water or a water leak. I was amazed to see this method being used in Tisdale and it wasn't until the man was a couple of metres away from me that it was clear that the gentleman was blind and the device in his hand was a white cane. |

Clearly most of what happens to us in life depends on how we look at it. Having never seen a blind man on the street of Tisdale it was as likely that a man waving a white stick could just as easily been a man "witching" which I had never seen on the street in Tisdale either. |

As we make this journey through life we all have to sometimes just roll with the punches and instead of letting things get us down we have to find the humour in either what we do or what we see is happening. A friend called today for some online computer support and told me how his spending money from last money was stolen from his wallet and this month as he was standing in a cue he let slip $500 from his zip lock bag which now serves as his wallet, some kids scooped up his money and ran then today the suspect who is believed to have lifted his wallet tossed most of the contents of his hard drive into the computer's desktop trash can. I told him either he finds a light side to these mishaps or it will eat away at him and spoil his outlook on life. |

As our prime minister is under increasing attacks for the position he has lead the government of our country we ought to reflect on his often simple struggle to find the right words and we all know he would find his comments as funny as we do; |

Mr. Chrétien refused to endorse the overthrow of Saddam, but said he does hope the U.S. wins the war. "There is a war. You know, what will be the consequences of the war, we don't know," he said. "How do I know it's a war?. Well, a war is a war, you know, and when you've got a war, you know it. And if you don't know there's a war then you should because there is a war. Just because you don't know there's a war doesn't mean that there isn't a war, you know. I am sure. I know there is a war. You know, I don't want Saddam Hussein to win." |

Then there was what our man said as he discussed the Atlantic seal industry in a speech in Calgary Liberals back in 1995: |

"Seals don't eat beef. I was interviewed one day in France. I explained one of the problems is we have too many seals. A reporter came to me and asked if it is true that seals eat cod. I don't know. I'm not a seal. But I can tell you seals don't eat beef because the seals are not living in Alberta." |
