Poppies though only flowers have to be considered to have a high level of determination. Here we see them planted behind a boarder but happily volunteering in a tough gravel driveway. The intensity of their colour always astonishes me as they seem to be the very essence of "redness." Below we can see another view of this flower patch with some hollyhawks doing their usual upstanding job.
