The September meeting of the Parkland Photography Club was held in the Doghide Gallery on Tuesday, September 23. There were six members present. The meeting was chaired by President Anne McIntosh.

The upcoming display of members' photos was the main topic of discussion. "Parkland Photography Club presents the Shutterbug Show" will take place on Thursday, October 23 at 7 p.m. In the Doghide Gallery. Each member present brought four or five framed enlargements for the display. It is to be hoped, the other members will soon have their entries there. We invite the public to drop in that evening, or during the next couple of weeks, to view our work. Some of these will be available for purchase. It isn't too early to be thinking about gifts for Christmas.

There were three entries in the "Summer" club competition. This consisted of four photos representing the idea of summer that are presented as one unit. Each member judged the entries with first going to Anne McIntosh, second to Albert Orbin, and third to Darlene McCullough. (click on the name to see the page of four pictures)

We decided that we would enter the Gleneath Camera Club's Foto Fun competition since it has been opened to digital images. Prior to this year, it was a slide competition. Each of our club members may submit one image taken in Saskatchewan. We will then have the opportunity to judge all the entries.

We are again planning a new slide show to be shown at the senior residences. Each club member is asked to bring 15 - 20 images to the October meeting so that these can be assembled into a slide show. We will present the slide show during January/February when it is more difficult for the seniors to get out for activities.

Since next month's theme shoot is "Still Life" , Anne referred as to a web site where we could obtain some useful information to consider before we take our shots. She shared some information and tips with us.

We also decided to continue our four photo competition with the topic of "Winter" since it's too late now to do one on "Fall".

There were six entries in this month's theme shoot "Flowering Tree(s) or Flowering Shrub(s)". Members judged these entries with first going to Susan Morgan, second to Darlene McCullough, and a three way tie for third to Albert Orbin, Anne McIntosh and Alie Neish.

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28th in the Doghide Gallery. We invite anyone interested in photography to join us then.

We hope to visit with many of you when "Parkland Photography Club Presents the Shutterbug Show" at the Doghide Gallery on Thursday, October 23 starting at 7:00 p.m. Do drop in!
