Parkland Photo Club met in the Doghide Gallery on Tuesday, March 22, with 14 members present. Welcome to new member Melissa Morrison from Melfort. This brings the club membership to twenty-two. President Neil Anderson chaired the meeting.

Darlene McCullough reported that the history of the photo club was included in the Tisdale History book, Volume 2 and encouraged the members to check it out.

Hannah Anderson presented her before and after photos for the Generation Now project. She chose a crossword puzzle framework and then sharpened it, enhanced the words, cloned a letter and brightened it. Jillian Anderson was not present so Lia Boxall presented Jillian's project. Jillian chose a sunset scene and then did the altering in the camera changing the exposure and orientation of the image.

A suggestion of some members sharing their knowledge with the other members led to Neil Anderson volunteering to to do a presentation on exposure and metering for the April meeting and Bj Madsen volunteering to do one on light contrast and line work at a later date. Another suggested topic was the positioning of lights for portrait photography.

There were ninety-six images in the Foto Fun Competition this year so competition chairperson Anne McIntosh decided that was too many to be judged during a club meeting so she, Sharon Walker, and Bj Madsen judged them prior to the meeting. At the meeting, the images were projected and Anne read the mark and judges' comments for each. Once this competition was opened to include digital images as well as slides, the number of entries has greatly increased.

Members were reminded to be thinking about possible locations and times for a photo shoot this spring as well as some theme shoot suggestions for next year.

There were eight entries in this month's theme shoot which was "Part of a Machine". All three winners had shot the mechanical workings inside a watch. First place went to Bj Madsen, second place to Alan Caithcart and third place to Glenn Galloway.

Cindy Neilsen and Bj Madsen reported on their experiences while shooting images of cars in the Tisdale Museum collection. The cars were donated to the the museum but they had never been documented so that was the request by the museum committee.

Cindy Neilsen reported that the Paint Shop Pro photo editing class offered by Cumberland College was cancelled as she was the only one who had enrolled in it.

Wendy Derbowka presented five of her photos telling the members a bit about each and answering questions as the enlargements were passed around.

Wendy Derbowka volunteered to look after the archives for the club.

Thanks to Lia Boxall for supplying the lunch for this meeting.

The next meeting will he held in the Doghide Gallery on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 PM . The theme shoot topic is "Movement".
