TUCs Resurrected

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, September 13, 2001

It was a cold desolate and miserable winter weekend when a group of dedicated volunteers removed the floor from the abandoned TUCs high school. It was a salvage operation and stacks of materials were piled in the old gym. Those doing the work believed in what they were doing but must have had their doubts if that floor would ever be walked upon again.

Well, for the past few days and army of volunteers have been putting down the dance floor in the Golden Age

Seniors Centre. The rubber mounted under boards first then the grid of treated two by fours, topped with plywood sheeting. When these parts are all in place it will be time to install the carefully removed and sanded hardwood flooring that was once the gym floor in the building that once occupied the site of the new Gold Age Centre.

Splendid!
