FTLComm - Tisdale - September 16, 1999

The first home game of the 1999 football season was a dandy. High scoring and evenly matched Melfort and Tisdale traded passes and opportunities to give the fans a fabulous show. Melfort had lead the game with a small margin until late in the fourth quarter when Tisdale twice broke out with a snappy pass and run play that followed the pattern set last year in the first game of the season.

Last year as Tisdale played
an outstanding game Bob Penner said "The game we have been waiting on for years." Well it looks like we have just had another one. The Tisdale team's defense were able to keep excellent pressure on Melfort's offense despite that fact that Melfort's quarter back is a hot passer able to get the ball there on the money quickly. But, the Tisdale secondary covered up the receivers in the fourth quarter and the line was able to take him for a couple of serious loses.

Melfort has the ball deep in their own end mid way through the fourth quarter and below Tisdale is working on a two point convert attempt.
Mayor Rollie Zimmer enjoyed the game in what has to be the best kind of football weather one can imagine.

Wonderful game in what should be a great year of football for Tisdale. This year we have not one but two teams so we are all looking forward to the first appearance of the new 6 man team that will be playing in a league with Arborfield, Carrot River, Bjorkdale and Porcupine Plain. Players from the six man team were dressed and on the side lines for today's game ready to fill in and we know the rest of the team will be there cheering them on when they make their first appearance. The schedule will soon be available and we will try to keep you informed about upcoming games.

Girls soccer tomorrow in Prince Albert.
