Doghide In No Hurry This year

FTLComm - Tisdale - April 25, 2001

This morning it was time to take a look at the Doghide river and see how it is making out. This stream each year widens out and fills the small ravine through which it flows but in the spring of 2001 it seems to be taking its time.

The picture on the right shows ice beside this little bridge North of town and the
picture at the top of the page shows that though this portion of the stream, West of the highway #3 bridge North of town, is now liquid you can see a nice pile of snow tucked into a space where the sun can not see.
The picture above was taken Tuesday morning and though you will not make them out there are golfers out on the course enjoying the gentle sunshine of the morning.

This picture shows that optimism is always available, especially if you own a convertible.

The low temperatures have made this a very slow thawing spring and as a result no run off appears to be taking place. The picture below shows the Doghide in its solid form and that is the most common sight still along this stream. It is an extremely odd combination because though the wind started out in a modest manner this morning afternoon wind speeds really picked up to almost forty knots.
