Today like yesterday was just glorious. Bright sunshine, the temperature around freezing and almost no wind at all, it definitely has the taste of spring. As I drove out onto our street (below) we still have quite a lot of snow on the surface but as you can see the sun is making that less and less each passing day and in the fourth picture on this page you can see puddles and the snow is mostly gone from that street.

I saw at least two people out with various impliments assisting the melting water make its way to the storm sewers and along the CP railway two fellows on snow machines were out enjoying the dampening snow.

I came down Newmarket from the north this afternoon and was surprised to see a whole fleet of cars at the pumping station on Newmarket and at first I didn't know why all the cars. Then I spotted the crowd on top of the hill just north of the hospital (top of page) as they were slipping and sliding their way down the gentle slope.

But everywhere you looked in town there were people out and about enjoying the warm weather and the bright sunlight.

When I got back home I took a look into our back yard (below) and from the scene that you see there it looks like we have a way to go as far as spring is concerned but it also is apparent that we can expect to see a fair run off when all of that snow melts.
