 It is in March each year that the season of winter has its last shot at leaving a mark on our memory and as Kevin McIntyre told me a week ago the worst weather he had ever experience was in March. Anyone who has lived more than one winter in Saskatchewan will agree with Kevin because March is out time to howl. These pictures were taken Saturday as the wind worked its way up to about twenty knots but with the temperature in the -20ºC this made for really unpleasantness. |

 Most March and early April storms are blizzards with lots of snow and poor visibility but this little gem that roared all night long and did not back down until mid afternoon was using the snow on the ground and was in serious cold air mass. However, March is when the unexpected and unusual is the ordinary. |

 A field North of town, looking toward Nipawin and a mile from Tisdale approaching from the North (below). On all sides of town yesterday and last night it was just plain ugly. The snow machines were parked or in the back of pickups and it was a time for warm fires, tall tales and thoughts of a phantom spring some where in the distant future. |
