Canada Day in Regina
Friday
July 3, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Regina:
Progressively year after year the rather constrained Canadian is becoming more and more demonstrable when it comes to showing their patriotism. Steadily we see young Canadians showing their seniors that being proud to be a Canadian is fashionable and perfectly okay for the typically reserved nature of our citizenry.

Dominion Day Challenge, Read your country's foundational documents
Friday
July 3, 2009
by: Robert Ede
Richmond Hill Ontario:
The Canadian constitution is fundamentally much more complex than what we see in the news each day and it is substantially more dynamic than the ancient 1776 document that is the basis for the government of our southern neighbours. Many of our concerns about the Canadian government are covered in the constitional documents but ignored. Check out Mr. Ede's link to the basics that establish Canadian democracy.

This project got underway back on May 26th and during this past week its walls began to take shape. One of the main reasons for the slow progress is the size and scope of this project which is roughly equal to two full sized houses.

Tisdale:
Though history records the actual first step on the moon was forty years ago today for those of us caught up in the event it really had been going on all week long and the actually event of astronauts on the moons surface was just part of a remarkable achievement by NASA scientists and the determination by the US government to see through such an expensive project.

July 21, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
This project began on April 23rd with excavation started that day and susequently a foam form concrete basement was created but it was not until today that the house was moved into town. As few as two or three houses migrate to Tisdale each year. One of those that moved here last year was moved because contractors were unavailable to build a new house.

by: Timothy and Judy Shire
Harvey, North Dakota:
In a world that seems to be changing even as we text on our cell phones it is important to recognise the importance of family and the part our families play in determining our self awareness and understanding our origins. This story is not about a Tisdale family but a Saskatchewan family from the Maple Creek area that traces its origins back to North Dakota, South Dakota, near Odessa in the Ukraine and indeed back to Germany. On July 5th we celebrated with the Eckart family as Louise Eckart marked her 99th birthday.

For about four months of every Tisdale year we can enjoy the outdoor experience and a patio or deck make a perfect addition to every home and yard. The issue is, what is the best design for a deck? The answer is in these pictures of an outstanding example of how to skip the worry and trouble of complex design and construction and get the most out of your outdoor living space.

by: Timothy W. Shire

This project got underway May 22nd with the destruction and removal of an old house as the lot was cleared for a new dwelling. Shortly after the project got underway there was a change of house plans that lasted close to a month. Now the walls and garage of the new house are standing across the street from the RCMP detachment.
