Bear

Michael Townsend was working as a teacher in the Northern BC village of Iskut on the long and lonely road from Cassiar to Smithers about a decade ago. He became involved with the life of big and badly abused german shepherd that he called Bear.

Four years ago today Ensign posted one of its first travel and adventure stories about Michael and Bear climbing a nearby mountain.

Bear was throughout all of his years Mikes best buddy and his life ended a few weeks ago. Below is Mike's tribute to his old friend and fellow traveller.
