So, for the Star Trek fan is Insurrection worth the price of admission, absolutely and then some. For the non-Trek fan is this a movie worth seeing, absolutely, this is essentially good stuff, Roy Rogers, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood fans can be at home with this one but so can those folks who want to see a movie about human decency and compassion.
( I can't help think how Jean Luc Picard would comment about the head of Star Fleet lying about a sexual relationship on television.) Keep in mind that movies, no matter what their subject are made in the context of their own time so that James Kirk was created as the Vietnam war began and The Next Generation was a part of the ending of the Cold War.
