The Transition Team meets regularly, usually twice per month. The Transition Team developed a set of goals which are the focus of our work for the duration of the interim ministry. These goals are listed below.
  • To explore conflict management, and to find ways to communicate conflict management skills. To teach all who are interested, particularly those people involved in leadership at St. Paul's United Church, how to implement these skills.
  • Communication: Circle conversations will be offered to give people the opportunity to talk about issues surrounding the church. We will explore issues like how people are feeling with the present situation of Interim Ministry. We will also explore the topics of trust and healing if people are feeling hurt.
  • Roles and United Church Structure: Explore United Church structure and how our local Board is structured. Review the roles we assume as leaders in the church.
  • Explore the future of the United Church at St. Paul's in Tisdale.

We have set up a timeline including circle conversations and workshops designed to move our congregation towards completion of the goals. Our committee reports to the Board each month and strives to keep the congregation informed of our work. During the next several weeks, Transition Team will be working on a midterm review of the interim ministry. The team will examine the effectiveness of the process to date and will also invite input from the congregation in the form of a short questionnaire. Rev. Sharon Ferguson-Hood will also write a report from her perspective. The information will be presented to Presbytery at the April, 2015 meeting.

Presbytery is responsible for the evaluation of the Interim Ministry, including the work of the Interim Minister. Therefore, a final evaluation will be submitted to the Presbytery Pastoral Relations Committee 90 days before the end of the ministry, likely March of 2016.
