The Transition Team met once or twice per month as needed.

The goals that we developed at the beginning of the interim remained the focus of our work over the past year and included activities such as circle conversations, a second conflict resolution workshop, an enneagram workshop, and participation in the Nepal fundraiser organized by Women's Fellowship.

The goals are listed below.

  • To explore conflict management, and to find ways to communicate conflict management skills. To teach all who are interested, particularly those people involved in leadership at St. Paul's United Church, how to implement these skills.
  • Communication: Circle conversations will be offered to give people the opportunity to talk about issues surrounding the church. We will explore issues like how people are feeling with the present situation of Interim Ministry. We will also explore the topics of trust and healing if people are feeling hurt.
  • Roles and United Church Structure: Explore United Church structure and how our local Board is structured. Review the roles we assume as leaders in the church.
  • Explore the future of the United Church at St. Paul's in Tisdale.

Our current focus is a final evaluation which will be submitted to Presbytery before February 19, 2016. We hope to have two or three more circle conversations before the end of June and a prayer writing workshop is scheduled for April 29, 2016.

It has been very gratifying to have people participate in our circle conversations and workshops and we hope those individuals have benefitted by the experiences. On behalf of the Transition Team, I invite others in the congregation to come out to any of the remaining events. St. Paul's needs the input of the congregation as we plan for the future.
