TAMARACK PRESBYTERY REPORT

Two major events of the United Church of Canada took place at National Conference in the fall. Rev. Jordan Cantwell from Saskatchewan was elected as the new moderator and a plan for the new format of United Church governance was introduced.

  • Tamarack Presbytery met Apr 17 at Shellbrook - Carol attended.
  • Presbytery met at Wesley United Church Feb. 27 at Prince Albert - Maureen attended.
  • Presbytery again met Oct 20 at Nipawin - Carol attended.
  • St. Paul's Tisdale is scheduled for a pastoral care visit in 2016.
  • The next meeting of Tamarack Presbytery is Feb. 2016 at Birch Hills.

Tamarack Presbytery accepted our Midterm Interim Ministry Report in March. The final Evaluation of the Interim Ministry will be sent in February. Our time with Rev. Sharon Ferguson-Hood ends June 30, 2016.

In November Tamarack Presbytery accepted the request from St. Paul’s to create a Joint Needs Assessment Committee (JNAC) as the first step in calling a new minister. The first JNAC meeting will be on Jan 31, 2016. Members of the committee are Judy Saelhof, Judy Krantz, Maureen Donald, Muriel Cameron and Rev. Emmanuel Menyereye.

VISITATION REPORT


Committee Members – Vera Billy, Natalie Rowley, Edith Dahl, Mildred Staples, May and Terry Bilash (from the church) and the late Nora Teale who passed away November 24, 2015.

Members deliver Sunday bulletins, annual reports, income tax receipts and newsletters to residents of Cedar Villa, McKay Tower, Madison Condo, the Meadows, Caleb, Maple Ridge Condo, Newmarket Place and shut-ins.
Some visit by phone, others visit people in the hospital – UCW also send cards.

We would like to thank May and Terry Bilash who continue to visit and deliver cards signed by church members for special Birthdays, get well and sympathy. Thank you also for the flowers that you give out from the kindness of your heart.

Thanks to those women who make up prayer shawls – as recipients are well pleased – Keep up the good work.
