TISDALE and STAR CITY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION REPORT


Events planned by the Ministerial –

  • Trojans – “Faith Night” February 7, 2015 breakfast and hockey game. speaker – David Lee (and his wife) from Saskatchewan Roughriders.

  • Lenten Soup & Sandwiches started February 25, March 4, 11, 25 and April 1, 2015, all held at the Golden Age Centre - attendance down.

  • Homicide – April 22, 2015 – Latasha Gosling Family – Janayah, Jenika and Landen – Suicide of adult male found in home in Prince Albert. A baby survived. Community Candle Light Vigil organised by the North East Outreach and Support Services – Louise Schweitzer, First Responders and Ministerial Association. Thank you.

  • Concert “Eve and Adams” became a fundraiser for the Women’s Shelter (May 30, 2015) $1500.00 was raised.

  • Family Fun Day – June 13, 2015 at Tisdale and District Museum. B.B.Q., climbing wall, rides, skits – Stoney Lake Day Camps and Father Gethin Edwards did the re-commemoration of the 107 years old St. Peter’s Anglican Church at the museum. (three year restoration project).

  • Suicide Bereavement Support Group – Second Wednesday of the month at the Anglican Church. Father Gethin and Pastor Dave said this group helps lots of people better understand and cope with this trauma.

  • SKY Family Celtic Revival at the RECPlex October 16, 2015 – Great Concert.

  • June – New ministers at Salvation Army – Captains Jenn and Rick Robins live at Melfort. They serve the communities of Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin.

  • United Church hosted September 8, 15 meeting Rev. Sharon did devotion and Edith lunch.

  • Emergency Services Appreciation Event – November 13, 2015 at the Golden Age Centre. Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor, Vaughn Solomon Schofield attended. Staff Sgt. Rob Embree was key note speaker. Community Churches donated potatoes, salads, vegetables and pies. Legion, Knights of Columbus helped set up and clean up. Pastor Jack in charge of program.

  • Remembrance Day Services – November 11, 2015 – Ministerial did service. I laid a wreath for the United Church- Our son Michael Dahl accompanied me - he is veteran of Canadian Forces-serving twenty-two years.

  • Christmas Kettles (for 25 days) - United Church did three day shift. Thanks everyone for your help. Needs were covered as donations were up.

  • Stuff a Bus was done in November 2015 at the Co-op parking lot. However, one third of the contents in Stuff a Bus were out dated and could not be given out. Food Bank is used a lot more in Tisdale. So Please check the “Best Before” dates before donating a food item. Thanks go out to the Food Bank Committee and Sharon Whiting who organises and delivers food stuff on behalf of St. Paul’s.
