Tim's Tip of the Day

I thought this thing with Iraq would just go away when the US government discovered only they needed the conflict but its not and if I thought by ignoring the situation it would disappear I was wrong and so are you. Looks like we are all going to have to step up the pressure because if one country doesn't like another's leader and thinks its okay to knock him off every sovereign nation in the world is in trouble.

Ensign Notes

Last night I sorted out video capture technology once again on the webcam computer and in the process torpedeoed the webcam but by lunch I had a new solution and it is running better than ever.

Budget 2003: Chrétien is hopefully the last of the big time spenders
Tuesday, February 25, 2003
by: Walter Robinson
Last week there was considerable shouting about the 2003 budget now its time to think it over and look carefully at what the government plans to do with the taxes for the next five years. Walter Robinson is fairly critical of a government which in the past has paid little attention to what it does with its money. This story has links to the complete budget.

Canada Loses Face on World Affairs
Tuesday, February 25, 2003
by: Derrall Bellaaire
We need to realise that we must as a country respect ourselves enough to uphold honour and that which is just. Mr. Bellaire puts clarity into the issue that is being tossed into the air like a tennis ball by Washington. You will need QuickTime to hear the short audio clip with this story.

Oh, what a friend we have in Dion
Monday, February 24, 2003
by: Ron Thornton
Last week the federal minister of intergovernmental affairs and the premier of Alberta exchanged letters and barbs as Alberta separatism is now being identified by the federal government that rarely looks West of Hull River. Ron Thornton takes a serious tongue in cheek look at the issue and for those of us who are not Albertans this is a chilling discussion.

Back into the tar pit
Friday, February 21, 2003
by: Jeff Smith
From his perspective on the coast Jeff Smith tells us about the take over by Paul Martin's Steamship company of an Australia bulk cargo company that then fired the ship's crew and hire Ukrainian crewmen. Makes our country look bad and seems down right mean.

Oil is becoming the only US's reason to wage war against Iraq
Thursday, February 20, 2003
The evidence is mounting that United States had boxed themselves into an energy corner some time ago and their course of action may not be a matter of choice but rather a necessity. This article has some outstanding references and it is worth your while to look these over.
