North East HealthPlex
Friday
October 23, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Ordinarily we try to show you projects that are real as opposed to proposals. But this one is an exception. Tisdale's history and success with doing co-operative community projects is best illustrated with the RECPlex and this project looks like the cummunity wants to build on its success with a multi-function facility based on the Tisdale hospital. This is a multi-million dollar project and you actually can assist in start up financing by visiting a web site in an effort to get a grant.

October 22, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire

Ideological inaction
Wednesday
October 21, 2009
by: Shane Mussche
Hamilton, Ontario:
In an effort to stave off the affects of the recession the federal government has been funding a lot of what seem pretty much like pork barrel projects in their member's ridings, even presenting cheques signed by the MP with a Conservative logo. The medical isotope production facility at Chalk River was underfunded and support by the government has ended as an attempt to privatise the project also failed. Makes one wonder.
Aurora and Chloe at the pumpkin patch
Monday
October 19, 2009
Images by: Matthew and Dawn Shire
Craven:
Being four and a half is a lot of fun it you hang out with your best friend and visit a market garden where they have face painting and huge piles of pumpkins. This story is in the 64 pictures that Aurora's mom and dad took Sunday afternoon, they are not entirely in order the software used to create this set of pages has a bit of a mind of its own but you will get the idea.
The Greenwater report

Before the snow
Thursday
October 15, 2009
by: R. W. Shire
Regina:
This past summer was very cool and yet as the summer drew to an end the flower beds around the province really put on a final show for the year. Now with snow on the ground in Regina and killer frost every night we can wish the summer of 2009 farewell with these pleasant images of the gardens in front of the provinces legislative grounds in Regina with Wascana lake in the background.

US President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
Wednesday
October 14, 2009
by: Brian Marlatt
White Rock, British Columbia:
The American media has become so high polarised that they can not cope with an honour being bestowed upon their leader without turning the event into an excuse for more name calling and ridicule. Many believe their actions are based on racism. In this article Mr. Marlatt points out what the world knows. Barak Obama has turned around the world and moved his country toward peace. Ending the misilie programme in Poland and his approaches to Muslim countries. Real achievements and a promise of more.
Baffoon quality public discourse
Friday
October 9, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria, British Columbia:
Canada's present government seems fully bent upon serving itself and some of its supporters while the rest of Canada and especially minority Canadians are left to fend for themselves. What we have is a callous indifference to life.
Thanksgiving a year after the collapse of the economic system
Thursday
October 8, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
By the way, its okay just to look at the fall pictures. Today's story deals with the things we can be thankful for as this recession moves along. Some see it easing while so many people are unemployed it is going to be a while but the consequences of what the business and governments have done will last for decades and perhaps longer.

Heritage Road
Tueday
October 6, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
