Prince Albert
: Fender benders look pretty harmless until you are in one and the force of the smash is astonishing. While in the flow of traffic last Thursday night the third vehicle to cross on a green light we were struck by another vehicle who attempted to get through a red light and we were in the way. A successful shopping trip ended in a very broken car and for me really sore ribs.

Tim's Tip of the Day

The only time the New Testament describes Jesus in what was an angry rage was when he kicked the money changers out of the temple. How do you think he would react to the commericalisation of his birthday and everything associated with it. (Click on thumb nail to see full size.)

Happenings In Tisdale:

The Greenwater report
Tuesday
December 15, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon
: Still doing a bit of Christmas shopping but always time for coffee. This week's report tells us about an interesting grade eight class that hikes around the city all year round and from their adventures are learning to get along with each other and their environment.
Martin's Furniture
Wednesday
December 9, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Steadily Martin Doyle expanded his business in downtown Tisdale moving into a larger building, expanding it to two floors of display area, opening a closed store as a specialty bedroom furniture shop and calling it the 3rd Floor, then expanding into the Mall for some months then this past summer took over the Coffee Shop and made it the 4th Floor. Now the time has come for Martin Doyle to sell this thriving business so it can continue to service this and surrounding communities.
New Mac Mini
Tuesday
December 8, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Almost microscopic in comparison to the five year old G5 Macintosh that it replaces. This is a 2.53Ghz dual core Intel processor computer with 4 GB of memory, a 350 GB drive, a two sided DVD burner and except for a little brick of a power supply what you see in the picture is the whole story. The wireless antenna and Bluetooth antenna is in the top and it is hooked up to two 23 in screens and a new wireless "magic mouse." The operating system is "Snow Leopard" 10.6.2.
The Greenwater report
Tuesday
December 8, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon:
The lake froze over on November 24th but it has gotten pretty chilly in Saskatoon. Gerald is concerned about the hazards of winter travel but got a real kick out of a huge craft fair this past weekend. Thanks to Mike Tatarynovich we have an excellent family picture of the Crawfords.

Home improvements
Wednesday
December 2, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Although building a new home is a big deal my hat goes off to those who choose to just take the one they have and make it better or bigger. I remember as a kid living in a house being rebuilt by CNR's B&B and count that as one of the most disruptive things that could happen to a family, yet every year folks go for home improvements.

The Greenwater report
Tuesday
December 1, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon:
Gerald helps us catch up on the weather and shares with us his lamentations over Sunday's football game. The Crawford tradition of a Sunday family brunch sounds like a great idea.
Parkland Photography Club November meeting
Saturday
November 28, 2009
by: Darlene McCullough
Tisdale:
A good turn out at the November meeting as the club launch some plans for the coming year and recognised the achievements of the Anderson photographers. This month's theme was berries and for the first time ever three pictures tied for first place.
Cleanup
Tuesday
November 24, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
The practice of cleaning up a harvested fied by burning it has become exceeding rare in the last few years but it still happens and it is still wrong. Wrong for the atmosphere and wrong for soil conservation. Successful farmers simply don't do it any more because in the long run the practice causes far more harm than the small amount of money saved in fuel to work the material into the soil.
Christmas trees for sale
Monday
November 23, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Each year it only seems that Christmas trees go on sale earlier than last year, actually it is about the same time each year.  With it warm and no snow on the ground it just seems pre-mature but they will keep so now is probably a good time to pick your tree out while the selection is excellent.
The Greenwater report
Monday
November 23, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon:
Another milestone for the Crawfords as great grandson, Atticus celebrates his very first birthday. Besides keep us up to date on the weather, the Crawfords tell us about an arts and crafts show at a Saskatoon church and mention the large list of people from down home they met there.

Saturday
November 21, 2009

Friday

This new house sits atop a concrete basement joining two others in the newest section of the community. This week the walls went up and the foundation for the garage is ready for framing.
Harvest in its last day
Thursday
November 19, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Weekes:
These warm November days were a God send to Saskatchewan's farmers as they have pretty much harvested all that is recoverable of this year's crop. There is good chance the Friday will be the last day of combining.
Shame for a generation
Thursday
November 19, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria, British Columbia:
Yesterday it became known that the government was repeatedly warned that all Afghan detainees were being tortured when they were turned over to Afghan authorities but nothing was done and today the government tried to discredit the diplomat saying he couldn't prove they were tortured. Not a proud day for our country.
