Tuesday
September 1, 2009

Last Thursday we check the fields around Tisdale and saw some swathing, today some fields have already been harvested and those being swathed on Thursday were being combined today while swathers were busy in Canola fields turned them into windrow mazes.
Is "Better safe than sorry" applicable to H1N1 or vaccine
Tuesday

by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls Ontario:
Is politics involved? Politics is always involved. Mr. Hueglin brings forth a warning about the rush by government to appear to be doing something about what is potentially a very dangerous influenza epidemic. But it is your responsibility to keep yourself informed and measure the actions being taken.

Monday
August 31, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
TMSS Tornados have two exhibition games to start of the season, the game this afternoon at home with Esterhazy visiting and on Friday the team will be in Nipawin to round off their pre-season. But it was outstanding football weather this afternoon with no wind and a cloudless sky as Tisdale fans soaked up an exciting game  with the Tornados leading 14 to 12 at the half followed by a touchdown as the took the lead in the third quarter.
The Greenwater report
Monday
August 31, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon:
With no Internet connection the Crawfords were unable to get us a report last week when they were out at Little Loon Lake Regional Park, near Glaslyn. But, we get caught up this week as our happy campers soak up some of the late summer weather.
Chronically short history
Friday
August 28, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
With a historical heritage of only a few years more than a single century this part of Canada is virtually a new world in progress. Though as a people we can look back on our European experience this history of this part of the world is so short it practically is non-existent. The area had been inhabited for perhaps 12,000 years but almost nothing is for sure prior to 1905.
Not quite yet
Thursday
August 27, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Most barley crops are ready to swath and peas are ready for the combine but with only 15ºC today and about the same yesterday things are not dry enough to get the harvest process underway. While taking these pictures this was one of two swathers struggling to chop into a damp but ready field.

Thursday
August 20, 2009

Does Noah have a cell?
Wednesday
August 19, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
With the weekend's rain followed by yesterday and today one wonders "How long can you tread water?" It has been a miserable cool summer with Albertans complaining of drought and Manitobans still pumping out their basements from spring flooding. Now I wonder if its to late to get in touch with Noah for some advice and information about what's a cubit.
The Greenwater report

Back into Saskatoon for a brief rest the Crawfords did not enjoy the rain but were rewarded with yet another great grandchild. Gerald like the campground in Churchbridge and is proud of the appearance of Wynyard. Next week off to Little Loon Lake.
Stephen Harper: A Homer Simpson in the making?
Monday
August 17, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria, British Columbia:
Mulroney's privatisation of the Medical Isotope processing resulted in the confusion with the Maple reactor project. Now after several law suits all lost by the government they own the non-working reactors. Time to sort them out and get isotope production back on line.
What once was Kenosee Lake
Friday
August 14, 2009
Images by: R. W. Shire
Kenosee Lake, Moose Mountain Provincial Park:
For many who grew up in South Eastern Saskatchewan, Kenosee Lake was the centre of the universe. Outstanding golf course, great dance bands, swimming, fishing camping and a great beach to hang out but some sort of geological accident has made the lake just a fraction of what it once was and mostly we just have the memories.

Friday
August 14, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
That cold spring was followed by an equally cool summer and the crops though looking good are weeks behind normal. In a simple drive through the country north of Tisdale this morning it looks like two to three weeks before the process begins.
