Tim's Tip of the Day

Telephone abuse is growing as corporations indulge in seeing just how far they can push people around. If you get a call from a computer that asks you to wait, hang up. If you get a call from a company telling you they are going play a recorded message to you, hang up. Do not accept abuse from telephone racket operations.

Ensign Notes

Summer holidays: That's right, 2003 is the first year since 1991 that we have had a chance to take a holiday. During June, July and the first two weeks of August we will have some intermittant days when Ensign will not post. Our plan is to do some tripping and camping here in Saskatchewan. Back in Tisdale posting today and tomorrow.

The Greenwater Report
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
by: Gerald Crawford
Its been raining at the park and Gerald has been out checking out the surrounding communities. Besides telling us about a reunion he gives us the details on fishing.

Hello Mr. Robinson: Canadian Walter Robinson kisses the Bush Assets
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
Many think that just cutting down on the size of government would make things better. Mario deSantis presents quite a different argument and it is illustrated by a shocking graph that shows the growth of jobs under the various American presidents in the past and not since the thirties has the American economy done as poorly as under George W. Bush.

Summertime reality TV (Episode 1): Survivor - taxpayers on CCRA Island
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
by: Walter Robinson
This is an interesting take on the tax situation in Canada, instead of focusing on the way the Canadian middle class has lost much of its earning power Mr. Robinson concentrates on the upper and lower scale of the income earners in this country who now bare the burden of the economy because the once large middle class has been so greatly reduced.

In Search Of Intelligent Life
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
by: Ron Thornton
There is often cause for us to feel dissolutioned about the way things seem to be going and this seems to be one of those days when Ron Thornton is having trouble finding a silver lining.

Mom, can I borrow the car
Tuesday, July 8, 2003
by: Kevin McIntyre
This is one of those events if someone told you about it you would just think they were pulling your leg but Kevin has documented some "good ole' boy" smokin' fun at Gronlid last Saturday afternoon. This includes 46 pictures so just click on the thumbnail images to see the scenes Kevin tells about in the text.

West Nile Fear Ver
Sunday, July 6, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Birds are testing positive as far West as Delorain in Manitoba, it is the season for a very dangerous virous to move West.

Bringing administration of justice into disrepute
Sunday, July 6, 2003
by: Joe Hueglin
The gun registry legislation has come into effect six days ago and no one can find value or saftey in the massive amounts of money spent on this exceptionally silly programme. Joe Hueglin questions the damage this programme is doing to the whole of Canada's justice system as it devalues both the courts and the respect Canadians normally demonstrate for the laws of the land.

The regressive streamlining administration of the Insurance Industry
Sunday, July 6, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
To make up for stock market losses Canada's Insurance industry is cutting service and raising premiums all a part of their "streamlining" process.

Duet
Saturday, July 5, 2003
by: Mark Alan Whittle
A story of a little boy who meets Orca and somewhere their minds and voices met. This page includes an example of Killer whale singing but requires QuickTime to be heard.

Automated Sprinklers
Saturday, July 5, 2003
by: Kevin McIntyre
Fidling with sprinklers, getting your feet wet and making a general mess is how I water the garden but Kevin has put together a system that involves going out on the deck and selecting the appropriate valves, job done. All for $150.

Paul Martin and Harry Potter
Friday, July 4, 2003
by: Rudy Fernandes
The man is a Wizard, absolutely no doubt about it as the press and media have fallen under a spell and the support of terrorist groups, off shore banking and his company's continued pocket filling at the public's expense all are invisible and ignored.

Beef about U.S. beef
Friday, July 4, 2003
By: Rebecca Gingrich
Here is something you can do, after reading both Rebecca's letter to the ministers of Agriculture and Health you too might want to make a recommendation of your own.

Gazebo
Thursday, July 3, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
A vast expanse of lawn may have some interest but its function is dubious. A Quill Lake family have a solution put a point of interest on that big lawn, something that will be pleasing to the eye and something that invites involvement.

Is Bush not technically untrue, or is he just a liar?
Thursday, July 3, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
The references on this story indicate the extent to which journalists and doubters have gone to realise the fabrication of Iraq evidence of weapons of mass destruction.

A week of taxing news for working stiffs
Thursday, July 3, 2003
by: Walter Robinson
While we hear of wild expense account spending, Manley tells us about the budget surplus despite the "perfect storm" and then we discover Tax Freedom day is on day later than last year.

The Greenwater report

Gerald takes a trip and takes us along with him to share in the wonders of Central Saskatchewan.

Albert Street Bridge Crash
Thursday, June 26, 2003
by: Stu Innes
Even at the modest speeds that occur in city traffic when things come apart the results can be really rough. This incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in Regina involving an SUV, a van, a taxi and a truck pulling a trailer.

Radwanski out of the frypan into the fire
Thursday, June 26, 2003
by: Ken Wilson
What's this our hero George, defender of the privacy of all needed to be a private as possible as Ken Wilson asks some serious questions about this departed civil servant.

America is experiencing a big economic bubble ready to deflate: The Free Market competition for grabbing scarcer resources
Thursday, June 26, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
The American economy accounts for fifth of all world trade and it is in a serious mess with a growing deficit, a trade deficit and mounting debt from its war adventures. It would be nice if this were their problem but unfortunately because of the dominance of their imposition of their system on the rest of the world we all will share in their catastrophic decline.

On his watch
Thursday, June 26, 2003
by: Mike Reilly
Radwanski appears to have been quite a guy but to heap blame on him is just too easy when we realise that he was appointed by someone and all of his misspent money had to come from some where. Mike Reilly lays some of the blame with Paul Martin.

Batoche Once More
Wednesday, June 25, 2003
by: Timothy & Judy Shire
An opportunity to share a visit to the Batoche Historical Park with the grade eight and nine students from Kelliher let us see the site and all that it symbolises. These pictures tell the story. This story includes 71 pictures and a 1MB QuickTime VR.

The Kamsack conundrum
Tuesday, June 24, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Just as many, perhaps more people yet how do you attract business and young people to a small Saskatchewan town, even one with such a rich tradition in history and culture.

by: Gerald Crawford

The Privatization of the Rule of Law: The Immunity Legislations for tycoon Berlusconi and hegemonic America
Monday, June 23, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
It is disturbing indeed to find out that the Italian Premier merely passes a law to prevent his conviction of corruption but even more disturbing that the United States is forcing nations around the world to sign agreements exempting Americans from War Crimes. Looks like Hitler and Musolini would have been better off to have had better lawyers.

"Psst, Need a new ship for your fleet?"
Monday, June 23, 2003
by: Rebecca Gingrich
Being a wealthy ship owner and claiming that it is in a "blind trust" is just not going to work. Paul Martin may become the leader of the Liberal Party because he has bought and paid for its membership but Canadian voters are unlikely to elect someone who does his banking off shore and has his corporate hand out for corporate welfare.

Space Ship clouds
Sunday, June 22, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
"A bit breezing" is how most Saskatchewan people would have described the gale force winds that dashed across the province Thursday.
