Kevin's find of the day

Chickenhawk Red Eye Panel mocks stricken Canadian Army as slackers
If you want to know what Americans think about Canada go to the bottom of the page sited and watch this Fox video as a panel ridicules the Canadian effort in Afghanistan. This was done the day that four Canadians were killed in action.

Thursday
March 19, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Today the quilting group began their session at ten this morning and worked all day on quilt after quilt as they get their annual crop of project wrapped up for yet another year.
Regulations and the free market philosophy
Thursday
March 19, 2009
by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls, Ontario: It is truly confounding to face the fact that the present government of Canada has such enormous difficulty doing its job, a job quite simply is to govern the country. Ther problem seems unavoidable as they lose sight of their job in order to forge ahead with their hatched in Alberta concepts of what government should be.
Seniors and the telephone
Thursday
March 19, 2009
by: Ken Styan
Tisdale: Though the computer has become so common place in many homes there are far more households without computer access than those with the machine embedded in the fabric of day to day life. Therefore, the telephone is most likely here to stay.
The demise of the telephone
Wednesday
March 18, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: What a shame, Alexander Graham Bell had a great idea and it has worked for us well for over a century but alas the era of the telephone is over. Spam advertising, wrong numbers, voice mail and computerised answering systems make the thing all but completely useless.
The Greenwater report
Tuesday
March 17, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: The Crawfords are showing patience with the winter that drags on and on as they take in a visit to the casino, catch a glimpse of an eagle, visit the Field House regularily and have an allergic reaction to newspaper ink. The Crawfords celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past week.
Conservative innovation hits poorer municipalities hardest
Tuesday
March 17, 2009
by: Nancy Clarke
Grand Bank, Newfoundland Labrador: The Federal Budget though touted as a stimulous budget had within it a score of other legislation. With enormous pressure to pass the budget quickly the opposition did not do their work and the government moved its neo-conservative agenda well forward. This story points out a glaring example.
Getting ready for spring
Friday
March 13, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Every year the town clears the ditches and drainage runoff waterways in and around the town. Despite the really cold weather this week the work has been carried out using the blower.
Are Ex-Presidents subject to Canadian Law like everyone else?
Friday
March 13, 2009

House number three - a duplex
Thursday
March 12, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: It has been tough for both Strive Concrete and now Farber Construction to get this project going. Cold temperatures have interrupted the work but the walls on a new duplex condo on 95th street are going up.
It's what we're about
Wednesday
March 11, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: With world wide unemployment rising and the markets in shambles it is important to shake ones head and look at the horizon and think just what are we about. Saskatchewan depends for its wealth on mining, oil production, potash, forestry and agriculture. Here in this part of the province agriculturre is the thing and we must not forget that, but its time to get ready for another crop year.
Connaught road gravel stockpile
Tuesday
March 10, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: In the winter the frozen roads permit the heavy trucks to move gravel for stockpiles but in the spring, summer and fall the weight restrictions limit loads in order to preserve to roads themselves. Saskatchewan badly needs to upgrade its rural road system.
Ritz redundant demand for second AG audit of CWB
Tuesday
March 10, 2009
by: Art Macklin
Grand Prairie, Alberta:The Harper government will not give up on trying to damage the Canadian Wheat Board even in their attacks cost Western Canadian Farmers millions. The Board has a fund to back up market declines and had to dip into this fund and that has prompted the minister in charge to call for an audit, despite a 2001 audit that established outstanding financial handling by the Board.

Monday
March 9, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The Trojans wrapped up the first round of their play off season with three straight wins over the Prince Albert Mintos on Saturday night with a decisive 3 - 0 victory.

RCMP leadership must be held accountable for interference
Thursday
March 5, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria British Columbia: With the British Columbia's decision not to lay charges against the four officers who killed Robert Dziekanski one would have thought that the force as a whole would have wanted to clear the matter up. However, that is not the case they seemed to have deliberately surpressed cooperation with the inquiry into the incident and surpressed other evidence.
Why special $3 billion fund must be accounted for up front
Thursday
March 5, 2009
by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls: It would appear that the lesson of December has not been learned as the Prime Minister is once again on a $3 billion plan to bolster ridings he needs to win a major in a future election. The Liberals do not want to grant the government that much descressionary money while the NDP refers to it as a slush fund. Election looms.
Cheers to a healthier economy
Wednesday
March 4, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria British Columbia: There is nothing we can do about the current financial and economic crisis in which we find ourselves but we are demanding that our government take critical steps in this time of economic slow down. Here is a simple summary of the political / economic choices available.
Langbank 1951
Tuesday
March 3, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Langbank: Langbank is a tiny community in the southeast part of Saskatchewan. In 1951 school consolidation had not yet taken place and the school then had two rooms, grades 1 - 7 and 8 -12. You need not know the people in the picture but their story and their time is frozen in this interesting image.
The Greenwater report
Monday
March 2, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford

Fearful men
Friday
February 27, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The sickening statements made by those who killed Robert Dziekanski are just to much to bare. One could understand lying but after being cleared of the murder the RCMP members seem almost proud of killing the tired, stressed, polish speaking man.
Super Bumper
Thursday
February 26, 2009
by: Kevin McIntyre
Carrot River: Cars in Canada must have a bumper capable of being hit at low speed and absorbing the energy. Trucks and vans which are classified as trucks are exempt from this requirement. Kevin has installed on his van a clever solution to improve the safety of his vehicle.
KKK - Kanada's killer kops
Thursday
February 26, 2009
by: Edwin Wallace
Swift Current: The federal government in response to the outrage of gang violence in Vancouver and Toronto has introduced a bill increasing penalties for gang related violence. Here in Saskaatchewan and British Columbia we have witnessed a large number of police killing people while taking them into custody or already in hand cuffs. The police explanation is that the "officer feared for his life" and was justified and killing. Only beating a prisoner is ever punished the police killing someone as in the Dziekanski case all but ignored.

Wednesday
February 25, 2009
