Tim's Tip of the Day

Kevin's find of the day

Stay slim to save the planet
It makes a good deal of sense but perhaps if your a thin guy you have never thought about it. Being over weigh consumes a lot more energy than being thin and by keeping obescity in check mankind could go a long way in reducing green house gases.

Happenings In Tisdale:

Two buildings in Leacross
Friday
April 17, 2009
by:Timothy W. Shire

April showers in white
Thursday
April 16, 2009
by:Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: It began snowing just after midnight and except for a few let ups during the day, has piled the wet foam like snow, on us all day.
Here are eleven pictures of our white April shower.
Stone throwing: Best done after self evaluation
Thursday
April 16, 2009
by:Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls Ontario: The Prime Minister is demanding that his party stay clear of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. The Prime Minister asserts that his party has a moral compass and the Liberals do not. Looks like we need to think these moral issues over just a little bit more.

Doghide still within its banks
Tuesday
April 14, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Through the years it is normal for the spring run off to exceed the capacity of the little Doghide River that flows along the east side of Tisdale. This year it is flowing along peacefully and the water is staying with in the banks of the river.
Canadian Grain Act - Bill C-13; privatisation on the march
Thursday
April 9, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: As we discover the reason Canada's banking sector is one of the soundest in the world is because it is not allowed free reign but is carefully controlled. Up to now countries around the world can import grain from Canada knowing it is safe but all that could change because the government wants to do away with all controls on the grain handling industry to benifit the grain companies.
Taking advantage of spring
Wednesday
April 8, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: As winter crept along project and developments are delayed as everyone waits for warmer weather and now its time to get at those things that have been waiting to be done.

Wading into spring
Thursday
April 2, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Two geese by the highway and perhaps eight at the lagoon but its a start as the puddles expand and the snow thins on the fields and lawns. The streets in town badly need the sweeper and Heritage Road feels like it hasn't been graded in a decade, all are signs of spring.
Major water break
Thursday
April 2, 2009
images by: Ken Styan
Tisdale: Using aa contractor there were repairs made this week to a water main just west of Tisdale's main street. The excavation was about 100ft long.
Saying goodbye to winter
Wednesday
April 1, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Spring looks pretty much to be here now and its a good time to look back at what we will remember as this past winter. So much of what we will remember is not the winter itself but the economic uncertainty that were part and parcel of this season.
The Greenwater report
