Tim's Tip of the Day

When designing the sidewalks and furnishing for downtown Tisdale this type of tree ring was prescribed. (This one at the Forks in Winnipeg) They were not installed because of cost but instead we have shin and door busting brick walls around the trees. In the long run it is always best to do the job right the first time.

Kevin's find of the day

Obesity health risk
cause 'found'

Australian and US researchers have discovered the culprit. A chemical given off by fat cells called PEDF that causes insulin resistance in other cels and thus the cause of type '2' diabetes. So far work only with rats.

Happenings In Tisdale:

Duplex, housing start eleven
Monday
July 13, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
This project got underway back on May 26th and during this past week its walls began to take shape. One of the main reasons for the slow progress is the size and scope of this project which is roughly equal to two full sized houses.
Canada Day in Regina
Friday
July 3, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Regina:
Progressively year after year the rather constrained Canadian is becoming more and more demonstrable when it comes to showing their patriotism. Steadily we see young Canadians showing their seniors that being proud to be a Canadian is fashionable and perfectly okay for the typically reserved nature of our citizenry.
Dominion Day Challenge, Read your country's foundational documents
Friday
July 3, 2009
by: Robert Ede
Richmond Hill Ontario:
The Canadian constitution is fundamentally much more complex than what we see in the news each day and it is substantially more dynamic than the ancient 1776 document that is the basis for the government of our southern neighbours. Many of our concerns about the Canadian government are covered in the constitional documents but ignored. Check out Mr. Ede's link to the basics that establish Canadian democracy.
Oh Canada
Tuesday
June 30, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Tomorrow is what we used to call "Dominion Day" but no matter what we call it there is no question that Canadians from coast to coast to coast appreciate their country and are dedicated to preserving those things that make this a great place to live and enjoy our days together. But all is not sweetness and light and we need to be on our guard to stand up for what we know to be Canadian and Canadian values.
Greenwater report
Monday
June 29, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Eagle Creek:
The Crawfords are getting the use of their motor home this summer and this week's report comes from the Eagle Creek Regional Park near Asquith. But, the itinerary is building up as plans to go to Kelliher, Kelvington, Greenwater, Watrous and on to Manitoba are all in the works.
Promising, rain and hope
Thursday
June 25, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Things were looking pretty glum for Saskatchewan's primary industry. Dust bowl conditions and frozen pastures but then we got some rain and the countryside has turn a righteous green. But there is more to consider then just the weather and that's looking up as well.
KidSport hot dog sale
Thursday
June 25, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
KidSport is one of those outstanind projects in the community where the fund provides registration money for kids and their families so that every child has the oportunity to take part in organised sports and recreational programming.
Overwhelmed by our own helplessness
Wednesday
June 24, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
That storm cloud today was turned out to be fairly mild but the power of a storm compells our attention as do the events overseas, just as the woes of our economy seem to be insurmountable. This story has a second story with some suggestions.
Hell bent on an election
Wednesday
June 24, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria British columbia:
Bar-b-ques, photo-ops, from now til mid September as Canada's federal politicians gear up for an inevitable fall election. This could be a really long summer.

1931 Model A runabout
Monday
June 22, 2009
by: R. W. Shire
Moosomin:
The Ford motor company has over the years made some very popular cars. The "T" was a legend but some versions of the model "A" were the equivalent of the Mustange of their day and like the pony still roll around towns and cities across the continent.

A helping hand to unemployed Canadian workers - Now!
Friday
June 19, 2009
by: Hon. Sinclair Stevens
Newmarket Ontario:
Thoug there is talk of the recession showing signs of recovery the unemployment situation will continue to worsen even after a real recovery begins. Canadians and the Canadian economy is suffering because of the lose of jobs and with Employment Insurance we have the means to provide relief and we need to this far more than pump money into the ownership of General Motors. The Honourable Sinclair Stevens is the leader of the Progressive Canadian Party and servered for many years as a cabinet minister during the Mulroney government.

When Paul Martin was running Canada's finances he increeased the qualifications and reduced benefits because of the tight money but thereafter the whole programme built up a huge surplus. The government simply grabbed that money and now in a recession they do not have the money to put into fair and equal treatment for all unemployed Canadians.

Begun on June 2nd, this house just south of the CN tracks on the southwest corner of town was fully standing yesterday and today the interior walls were all set in place. Meanwhile house nine has its garage and work on its second story and house eight had its rafters in place today.
