Thursday
May 29, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire

Tisdale's housing marketplace
Wednesday
May 28, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: With seventeen housing units either underway or completed this year people have been building as there was little to choose from to buy. With house number 2 and 3 almost complete two new houses are now available and two duplex units are on the market.
Treaty turns internet into a virtual police state
Wednesday
May 28, 2008
by: Alex Bussmann
Kirkland, Washington: The ACTA was initiated by the United States in October of 2007 and negotiated with the Conservative government of Canada since then. Since it is a trade agreement it will never come before parliament and could result in the police deciding what you have stolen and have on your iPod or computer system.
35 gets a touch up
Wednesday
May 28, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: This morning the Department of highways drove down Tisdale's main street (highway #35) and added a centre line which over the past few years had totally vanished.

More government than needed
Tuesday
May 27, 2008
by: Tom Brewer

The Greenwater report
Monday
May 26, 2008
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: The Crawfords spent the weekend garage saling. Even though Gerald's heart wasn't in the bargain hunting he was able to turn the event into a means of meeting and talking to people even stumbled on a "Report" fan.
Making us look like fools
Monday
May 26, 2008
by: Tom Brewer
Regina: External Affairs minister Bernier, who resigned today, while in Rome last week promised the use of a C-17 to move helicopters from the Ukraine to Burma. One is in Afghanistan two are laid up for maintenance and the fourth is broken down in Burma. It cost $900,000 to get a Russian plane to do the job. The useless C-17s cost us $3.5 Billion.
This year's crop emerging
Friday
May 23, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: While I wait impatiently for the leaves to come out once more on the trees there is grass growing in the back yard and I am going to have to mow the stuff before next Friday. Out in the farm fields the story is the same, the trees are just starting to get their act together but there is a solid green tinge to the fields as those who have not sprayed get a new crop of weeds but in other fields the green is this year's crop.
Where does Mr. Harper stand on the issue of free speech?
Friday
May 23, 2008
by: Rebecca Gingrich
Princeton Ontario: A private members bill is before parliament to pretty much shut down the Canadian Human Rights Commission and it would appear that Ms. Gingrich shares that opionion as she feels to many trivial cases are brought by the commission to further its own power.
House number nine
Thursday
May 22, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The housing boom in Tisdale continues with this project being now ready for the assembly of its basement. Meanwhile two more basements have been dug the services installed in yet another. May 22, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: This is the second housing start for Rise Construction this season as house 3 is almost complete as sub-contractors do the electrical, plumbing and drywalling. House ten is located on Forester Crescent which is a beehive of housing contruction with six houses on the go.
Fool me once, shame on you . . .
Wednesday
May 21, 2008
by: Tom Brewer
Regina: The Tory government and several of its MPs including Regina MP Tom Lukiwski promised up to $20 million to assist in the upgrading and revitalising of the aging IPSCO Place, what we all know as the Regina Exhibition grounds. Well it looks like they were just talking and nothing more.

Friday
May 16, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: This afternoon I spotted an occassional visitor to our part of Tisdale, a tall curious Jack rabbit who was checking out a man out for a walk. The hare did not seem to mind getting his picture taken and posed for a minute or so before setting off on his way.
Bike safety week
Thursday
May 15, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Just like the first few weeks of winter when we all have to learn to drive again each spring those on two wheels, adults and children alike have to learn all over again that being on a bicycle can be a truly dangerous thing unless you follow the rules of the road. Today's picture was not staged that's what Tisdale drivers have to cope with and it is only a matter of time until a cyclist becomes a statistic.

Canada First on errands of mercy?
Wednesday
May 14, 2008
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria B.C.: The Prime Minister has essentially dedicated Canadian military efforts to war and more war. Hardly the sort of thing Canadians have been or continue to be proud of, especially when we have the world wide reputation as a peace keeping and humanitarian aid providing country.
"Canada First" not placing Canada first
Wednesday
May 14, 2008
by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls Ontario: The Prime Minister pronouncement on national defence is simply not in the national interest. If Canada is first in our defence spending we would put money into search and rescue equipment and survailence aircraft with tough ice breakers to patrol our arctic waterways. None of these elements were mentioned in his speech in Halifax.
